Kicking Horse has one of the longest vertical drops in North America – a staggering 4,133 feet.  Trademarked as the “Champagne Powder Capital of Canada”, Kicking Horse is blessed with some of the lightest and driest powder snow in the Canadian Rockies, typically enjoying 24 feet of snow every season.

The resort is renowned for its expert terrain and is a great choice for advanced skiers and strong intermediates looking to try out some big mountain skiing, and with over 120 runs in the resort, there’s plenty of terrain to explore.

Whilst 20% of the resort is designated green, Kicking Horse is not really a resort for beginners, as most of the runs are ridiculously long and typically challenging.   This is a resort that best suits advanced skiers; 20% of the resort is designated as intermediate and 45% designated as advanced.  The rest is expert terrain.  If you’re looking for big mountain skiing served by an efficient lift system and plenty of chutes, bowls, glades, challenging pitches and powder days, then Kicking Horse should be on your ‘must ski’ list.
