Winter Park typically gets the most snow of any of the Colorado resorts. With an excellent snow record, a huge ski area over five interconnected mountains, modern spacious slope-side accommodation and the shortest airport transfer in Colorado, Winter Park should be on your ‘must ski’ list.
This is a friendly, relaxed, purpose-built ski resort which makes it an ideal destination for families.
Winter Park has an impressively large ski area with seven distinct ‘territories’, all of which offer different types of skiing. The mountain has every type of terrain you could wish for including open bowls, tree lined runs and some of the best mogul runs in Colorado on Mary Jane Mountain.
Intermediates will enjoy miles of groomed runs to cruise around on and with five mountains to choose from there is plenty of territories to explore. There is also a dedicated learning area; Discovery Park, which is fantastic for beginners and locally the ski school is considered to have one of the best beginner programmes in Colorado.
The purpose-built ski-in village offers excellent accommodation and a number of family friendly restaurants. For more lively nightlife, the original town of Winter Park is located nearby where you’ll find a wider range of bars and restaurants which come alive at night. The resort operates an efficient free shuttle service between the town and the modern slope-side ski village making it easy to travel between the two.
With an annual average of 320 inches of the white stuff to carve up every season, there is still great skiing available even in late season, which makes the resort an ideal choice for spring skiing in Colorado. Winter Park is also twinned with the ski resort of Steamboat and has a shared lift pass, which makes it a great destination for a two centre holiday.
