Panorama was recently voted North America’s resort of the year – and it’s easy to see why. Located on the famous Powder Highway, the resort offers some of the best skiing in interior British Columbia.

Families will love the slope-side accommodation and convenience of the compact purpose built pedestrian friendly village. Intermediates will be in their element exploring the long, wide, uncrowded cruisers that wind back into the village. Advanced skiers will head for the recently opened expert terrain in Taynton Bowl and easy access to heli-skiing adds to the excitement.
The compact ski village really sets the resort apart. The pedestrian friendly village is purpose designed around skier convenience ensuring that you are never more than 5 minutes away from the base of the mountain. There’s plenty of slopeside ski-in/ski–out accommodation available which means wherever you stay you are only minutes away from the lifts each morning.

The compact resort has a laid back atmosphere and there are a number of dining, shopping and apres-ski options in the skier village. There is also a ‘dinner bus’ which takes you to the nearby town of Invermere for a wider variety of restaurants.
With 133 runs, 70% of the ski area is perfect for beginners and intermediates. Beginners are well looked after with a dedicated learning area and one of Canada’s best ski school programmes. There are plenty of wide, gentle green and blue runs ideal for helping beginners to progress quickly.
Panorama has one of the longest vertical drops in North America and intermediates will be in their element here enjoying the quiet, uncrowded, wide, interesting cruisers that twist and wind down the mountain back into the village. You’ll be discovering stunning new runs all week.

Advanced skiers will be drawn toward Taynton Bowl. This area was previously used for backcountry heli-skiing. However, as part of the resorts planned expansion, 128 acres of this terrain is now lift accessible and has been incorporated into Panorama’s official resort boundary. This new area provides four double-black diamond runs that were previously only accessible when heli-skiing. Aptly named The Monster, Spectre, Ridgeback and Get Out these are exhilarating new runs – think heli-skiing without the heli! The new terrain expansion is part of the resorts plan to extend its boundary by 500 acres over the next few years.

For the more adventurous skiers, Panorama is home to Canada’s highest heli-ski operator, RK Heli Ski who have a heli-plex located in the resort. If you’ve ever dreamt of heli-skiing then Panorama is the ideal place to try out a day of back country skiing.

You don’t have to be an expert skier to try heli-skiing. RK Heli-Ski has a one day package specifically catering for intermediate skiers and first time heli-skiers with equipment and lunch provided as part of the package.
