Silver Star Mountain Resort is a picturesque mid-mountain village with colourful Victorian style buildings that add a certain charm to the resort.  For a small compact village, the resort is packed full of amenities, including lots of slopeside ski-in/ski-out accommodation and over 130 ski runs to explore.  Silver Star is a popular family friendly resort for Canadians and the resort has earned several awards over the years including ‘Best Small Resort in North America’.

This is a gem of a ski resort nestled in interior British Columbia in the Monashee Mountains, which ensures it receives plenty of powder days during the season – the resort typically enjoys over 7 metres of snow!

Silver Star Ski Holidays

Silver Star has two mountain faces and four distinct areas called Vance Creek, Silver Woods, Attridge and Putman Creek.  The front face of the mountain is great for beginners and intermediates.  Some of our favourite runs here include Milky Way, which is great for intermediate cruising.  Improvers will enjoy easier runs like Sundance and Far Out.

If you’re looking for more challenging terrain then you’ll find steeper fall lines on the back side of the mountain.  Explore the Putman Creek region for some great mogul runs and the Attridge area for powder face-shots after a snowfall.  The resort also has night skiing at the weekend during peak season.

The Village centre has a cosy, relaxed atmosphere.  The main street in the resort is ski-through.  This compact, quaint pedestrian friendly resort is a great choice for families looking for quiet uncrowded slopes and lots of off slope activities to keep the kids happy.

With over 10 hotels in the resort there are plenty of bars and restaurants to explore.  There is also a village grocery store to stock up your condo.  The resort has day care available for kids aged from 18 months and on snow fun is available for kids aged between 3 and 5 years old.

Off the slopes you can also try snowmobiling, ice skating, ice climbing and horse-drawn sleigh rides through the resort to name just a few.

Silver Star Mountain Resort beautifully combines big mountain skiing, with small town charm.  This is BC’s third largest resort with the back side of the mountain offering steep and deep, the front side offering great cruising, and there’s night skiing available at the weekend from mid-December to mid-March. With quiet, snow sure slopes and lots of village charm, Silver Star is sure to become a firm favourite with British skiers.

The resort of Big White is under two hours drive away from Silver Star, which also makes the resort a great choice for a twin centre holiday.
