Steamboat is one of Colorado’s biggest ski areas. With 3,000 acres of terrain, six mountain peaks offering miles of intermediate runs, a fantastic ski school and some of the best powder and tree skiing in Colorado this is a ‘must ski’ Colorado resort.

The resort has a great snow record enjoying over 300 inches of powder snow every season. This is one of the best places in Colorado to ski powder. The snow is so light, fluffy and dry that the ski resort trademarked the name ‘Champagne Powder’.

The skiing in Steamboat is simply sublime. Families and beginners will love the dedicated learning and slow zones, and as the resort prides itself on having one of the best family programmes in Colorado, kids 12 and under ski and rent free as long as they are pre-booked in advance and the adults rent too. Once the basics are conquered, confident beginners will love riding up the Gondola and exploring a number of long confidence boosting green runs like Why Not – which meanders down the mountain for over 3 miles – the resort’s longest beginner trail.
Over 40% of the mountain is perfect for intermediates. There are long cruisers like Tomahawk – the longest blue trail on the mountain, there are fantastic runs to discover over the back in Morningside Park and our personal favourite, Heavenly Daze which sits below the Gondola and offers superb views of the entire Yampa Valley as you carve up high speed GS turns – sublime!

Experts will love the chutes, bowls and double blacks that can be found at the top of Mt Werner which provides some of the most challenging skiing in Colorado. However, what sets Steamboat apart is the infamous Champagne Powder. On a powder day head to Storm Peak bowl or head for the trees at Sunshine.
Steamboat is a pedestrian friendly, modern, purpose built, ski-in village that sits under Colorado’s third largest ski mountain. At the heart of the village is the resorts centrepiece hotel, the Steamboat Grand Resort. The apres scene in the mountain village is a relaxed affair, with a good mix of bars and family friendly restaurants.

Whilst the ski village offers slope-side convenience, the town of Steamboat Springs sits 4km away from the ski base. This is a real ranching town where you can enjoy genuine western hospitality that’s steeped in tradition, an abundance of shops, 60 restaurants and over twenty bars and nightclubs.

Our accommodation options are located in the mountain village, providing easy access to the slopes in the morning. When you want to explore the shops and restaurants downtown, you can hop on the free regular shuttle service that connects the mountain village with the town.
Steamboat is part of the Ikon Pass, which allows you to explore some of the most iconic resorts in North America with the one season pass. The pass also includes other top Colorado resorts including Winter Park, Copper Mountain and Aspen Snowmass. Steamboat and Winter Park would be a great combination for a twin centre holiday or you could organise a road trip and ski four of Colorado’s most exciting resorts on the one pass.
We offer Steamboat’s flagship slopeside hotel, located just steps away from the Silver Bullet Gondola, ski slopes and ski school.
