Whistler is investing in new lift upgrades to get you on to the snow faster this season.
The existing six seater Creekside Gondola is being replaced with a high speed 10-person gondola, which will significantly improve wait times, and increase uphill capacity by 35% this winter.
The connecting four seater Big Red Express chairlift is also being replaced with a high-speed 6-person chair to increase uphill capacity by nearly 30%. The high speed chair takes you to the Roundhouse Lodge, which sits at just above 6,000ft at the top of the Whistler Village Gondola.
The new lift upgrades means that guests staying in the quieter Creekside Village will now have high speed access to the top of Whistler mountain.

Creekside Village is one of four base areas in Whistler and is located a five minute drive down valley from Whistler Village. There is good ski-in/ski-out access on a fairly easy blue run and the gondola connects you directly on to Whistler Mountain. Creekside is quieter than the main village, which may suit families. It also has a good selection of restaurants and shops and there’s a ski school based here. When you want to explore Whistler Village just hop on the bus service that runs up to the main village.

If you’re looking for a convenient condo in Whistler Creekside, we would recommend Legends. These four star condos have a prime slope side location in Creekside right next to the Gondola and ski school.
If you’re looking for a ski-in, ski-out hotel in Whistler Creekside, we would recommend the First Tracks Lodge. This four star hotel has a fantastic slope side position at Whistler Creekside with the Gondola located just outside the hotel.
You could also consider staying at Nita Lake Lodge. This four star hotel is nestled in a quiet location overlooking Nita Lake at Creekside. This boutique hotel is a great choice for couples and the hotel has a fantastic array of facilities including a complimentary shuttle to take you to the Creekside Gondola.
