By planning your next ski trip to North America early, you can lock in some of the best rates available. Here are our top tips for booking your perfect ski holiday to North America at the perfect price.
Secure your flights early
For the best value flights, you should book early. Many of the airlines that fly to North America from the UK will offer special rates if you pre-book your flights before the 31st August.
Flying direct will always be the quickest way of getting to your destination airport, but if you are looking to travel on a budget consider a one stop flight. Icelandair are currently offering a unique stopover deal if you fly through Reykjavik.
It’s also worth looking into the new flight route from Norwegian into Denver for the 2017/18 season which is offering great value flight options to Colorado from the UK.
For maximum flexibility you could use your air miles to secure your own scheduled fights. We can then sync up all the other aspects of your trip. Just let us know your flight codes when you book.
Availability
If you’re going on a family ski holiday and need to schedule your ski trip around fixed school holiday dates then it pays to book early to secure your preferred accommodation option.
In North America the Easter school break is considered to be low season – so there are plenty of good value accommodation options available in our resorts. We have carefully selected a range of hotels, condos and town-homes in our North American collection. Why not consider renting a town-home if you have a large family or are travelling with friends. It’s a great way of sharing the accommodation budget and you’ll have all the comforts of a ‘home from home’ holiday experience.
Save on Accommodation
Every spring, we negotiate a range of special offers, many of which are exclusive to Snow Unlimited customers. When you book early, some of our most popular accommodation options offer longer stay incentives, which can include Free Nights such as ‘Buy 7, Stay 10’ and ‘Buy 10, Stay 12’ special offers. Special offers can also include free room upgrades or free buffet breakfasts. Close out dates on these special deals range from May through to November so it pays to book early to secure the best offers.

Enjoy discounted lift pass rates, which are only available if you pre-purchase from Snow Unlimited in advance and are not available locally in the resorts. Booking early will secure the best rates in selected resorts. If you’re thinking of going on an extended trip why not consider buying a season ticket. We have negotiated special rates on the Epic Pass which provides skiers access to some of the world’s greatest ski resorts in North America, Europe and Australia including Whistler, Vail, Breckenridge and Park City. The Epic Pass also provides limited access to a range of European resorts like Verbier, St Anton and Meribel. Ideal if you’re thinking of taking a short stay break in Europe with friends.
Avoid Peak weeks
For the best offers to the USA consider travelling between January 5th and February 14th. After this, the US holiday periods of President’s Week and Spring Break run through February and March. In addition, Easter is also a good time to avoid peak prices. The North American resorts stay open until mid-April (with some staying open even later). We’re always happy to recommend which resorts have reliable snow cover at Easter and which offer the best late season snow conditions.
Consider travelling mid-week.
Take advantage of the long stay accommodation incentives on offer and consider a 10 or 12 day holiday. This can often mean you can secure better combined flight and accommodation rates. All of our holidays are tailor-made so you can travel on any scheduled flight, on any day of the week and stay in the resorts as long as you like.
